Mexicans "Under Represented" At Kendrick Lamar Juneteenth Show | Reaction
Aight Analysts, I've had a few people ask me about a recent viral video of LA Eyekon stating that Mexican rappers were under-represented at Ken & Friends Pop Out Juneteenth show. Eyekon also released a statement following the blowback. We react to that too.
Thank you to everyone who's donated to linktree or cashapp ($TheCompanyMan). It's priceless and allows me to continue dropping videos. It's all happening.

As a Mexican who was born in East L.A., who loves Hip Hop, and actually studies history as a hobby: I urge the community to not take this "foo's" opinion(s) as gospel for the rest of us. Some of us are actually educated. The rest: "they not like us!" We're about unity and understanding over here.

you made a really great point that I didn't even think about, why is it so hard for people to apologize?? that's much easier than all those other words he used just to circumvent that, regardless if it was intentional or not and regardless if his statement and what he said were "close enough"... it's gotta be a pride/ego thing. so many people care way too much about being right, rather than being open to learning. even the language of saying "i know it was a massacre" - why even say that you "know" when you don't even have confidence to finish what you think it is?? makes you look dumb. sick of people only making follow up statements when something goes viral. had that not been the case, and maybe someone just corrected him privately, i wonder if he would've even said anything. too many people with a platform these days that can just say anything and misguide their audience, spreading ignorance

💯 Idc if it's "Chicano rap" hip hop is a Black American culture and you are a guest. Especially with all the Mexican rappers that use the n word so freely in their music. Shut up and learn more. Nobody should have any entitlement and should really learn the roots of the genre of music in which you are participating. This goes beyond hip hop as well. Pretty much all music came from Black folks.

If the take was "Hey, unifying your community is awesome, and next time I hope you invite some Latino representation to the party, we're part of the LA family too" - who on earth would object to that? I kinda think the reason he thought himsel into a corner that produced those bad takes is that he's *looking for a way to talk about the pop out while also making himself feel more relevant". And I'm not saying he's NOT relevant to the LA scene, like clearly he is - but I think it's this kinda "I wanna score a point for myself/my side" that makes people contrive these weird takes they might not even REALLY feel.
